Philadelphia builder Henry D. Schneider and his wife Ida donated a carillon to the Trinity Reformed Church in Philadelphia, which he had built. The 25 bells were cast by the Meneely Bell Foundry in Watervliet, New York, making this the second American-built carillon after the St. James’ Episcopal Church in Danbury, Connecticut. The bells were first played on Christmas Eve 1929 by Melvin C. Corbett and were dedicated with a series of concerts in February and March 1930.
Twelve bells cast by Petit and Fristen were added in 1955. In 1968 the church decided to move to Holland, Pennsylvania and they also relocated the carillon to their new church. Another twelve Petit and Fristen bells were added in 1976, bringing the total to 49.
