Green Bay businessman, candymaker and musician Otto Kaap and his wife donated a 47-bell carillon cast by Petit and Fritsen that was dedicated on December 22, 1957 by Robert Donnell.

The first four bells were installed earlier.
The carillon is a gift to the church of Mr. and Mrs. Kaap and commemorates
the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman J. Kaap, Mr. Kaap's parents; Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas E. Limber, the parents of Mrs. Kaap; and Mrs. Henrietta Mahn, Mr.
Kaap's grandmother. Mrs. Mahn was a charter member of the congregation
when it was organized here 94 years ago.

Having donated a carillon to his church here, First Evangelical Lutheran,
Mr. Kaap had become fast friends with Eric Jordan, a Loughborough
carilloner.
