San Antonio rancher and oilman Lester A. Nordan and his family donated a carillon of 47-bells cast by the Petit and Fritsen Bell Foundry in the Netherlands. The carillon was dedicated on December 24, 1953 by Wendell Westcott.
Mrs. Nordan donated a 48th bell in 1983 in memory of her husband.
