John W. Anderson presented a carillon of 23 bells cast by the Gillett and Johnston Bell Foundry in Croydon, England that were dedicated on December 15, 1935 by Alle D. Zuidema.

Seven bells were added in 1938 and another five in 1988.  The carillon was rededicated on June 19, 1988 with a recital given by William De Turk.

Dedication of a carillon of 23 bells at Christ Episcopal Church Chapel, Grosse Pointe Farms, at 11 a.m. Sunday, will give metropolitan Detroit three carillons.
Presented to the chapel as an offering of gratitude by John W. Anderson, the bells range from 50 to 1,300 pounds in weight.  They were case by Gillett & Johnson in Croydon, England.
