Walter F. Tilton donated a carillon to the Town of Norwood that was installed in the Norwood Memorial Municipal Building and dedicated on Armistice Day, November 11, 1928 with a recital by Kamiel Lefevere.  The 50 bells were cast by Gillett & Johnston of Croydon, England.

The tower also contains the old town fire bell, but it is no longer in use.

The Tilton carillon, according to Mr. Townsend, will probably have better musical qualities than any other set in the country because of the fact that the tower was constructed with the knowledge that the carillon was to be placed there.  Due allowance has been made in the tower o! the Municipal building and the facilities added which will greatly enhance the musical value of the bells.
