Indianapolis businessman Arthur R. Baxter and his wife Frances donated a carillon to the Scottish Rite Masonic Cathedral.  The 63 bells making 49 notes were cast by the Taylor Bell Foundry in Loughborough, England, and was was dedicated on May 5th, 1929 with a recital given by Anton Brees. 

The carillon was renovated and expanded by Arthur Lynds Bigelow in 1965 and currently has 54 bells.
