The Knights of Columbus donated a 56-bell carillon cast cooperatively by Paccard and Petit & Fritsen to the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The bells were blessed on July 14, 1963 by Archbishop Patrick A. O’Boyle.
The inaugural concert was played by Arthur L. Bigelow on September 8, 1963.
