The Jose M. Ferrer Memorial Carillon of 23 bells cast by the Gillett and Johnston Bell Foundry in Croydon, England were dedicated by May 10, 1931 at installed in 1931 at the Chapel of Our Lady at the Canterbury School.
The bells were presented to Canterbury School by his widow, Mrs. Jose M. Ferrer.

Dr. Jose M. Ferrer, consulting physician of the French, St Vincent's and
Cancer hospitals, died Monday In his home, 10 East Sixty-sixth street,
from heart disease. He was born in Cuba in 1856, and was brought to the
United States by his parents. He was graduated from Manhattan College in
1876, nnd won his degree at Columbia University in 1880. Ho was a
specialist of pulmonary diseases and had a wlde practice in this city. Ho
was attending physlctan at the French Hospital for thirty years and was a
member of the board of administration at tho time of his death. He loaves
his wife, a son and three daughters. He was a member of numerous medical
societies and of the University and New YorK Yacht clubs.
